Customer Service Advisor – Preston
Davies Group is recruiting a Customer Service Advisor to join its growing Property team in Preston. The role involves helping home emergency insurance customers, managing calls and supporting customers throughout their claims journey.
This is a 3-month fixed-term opportunity starting on 12 October 2026. Previous contact centre or insurance claims experience can be useful, but it is not essential as training and support are provided.

About Job
The Customer Service Advisor will support customers who need assistance with home emergency insurance claims. The role involves answering inbound calls, understanding customer needs and helping coordinate the appropriate response.
Working in a busy contact centre environment, you will support customers from the initial notification of a claim through to resolution. You may also validate policyholders, diagnose issues, arrange trade contractors, take excess payments and organise boiler services.
Key Responsibilities
- ✅ Handle inbound calls from customers requiring home emergency assistance.
- ✅ Support customers throughout their claims journey from notification to resolution.
- ✅ Validate policyholder details and identify the appropriate response to reported issues.
- ✅ Arrange suitable trade contractors and keep customers updated throughout the process.
- ✅ Process excess policy payments, arrange boiler services and communicate with contractors.
- ✅ Work towards service targets and KPIs while maintaining professional customer service.
Eligibility Criteria
- ✅ Previous contact centre experience is helpful but not essential.
- ✅ Experience with First Notification of Loss (FNOL) for an insurer or claims handler is an advantage.
- ✅ Excellent telephone communication and customer service skills.
- ✅ Strong attention to detail and the ability to think quickly when dealing with customers.
- ✅ Self-motivated, professional and confident when communicating with customers.
- ✅ Ability to demonstrate empathy, tact, assertiveness and diplomacy in difficult customer situations.
- ✅ Good computer skills and strong administrative abilities.
